"Did you wash him up?"
"Uh, not really." (That means "no" by the way)
"Well, are you going to?"
"What do you think needs washed?"
In my expert mom opinion, "Probably his body."
"Well he's so white that I can tell what's dirty and he doesn't look dirty."
Sigh
Isabella's been in the habit of repeating everything she says three times. This is completely annoying and I can't tell you how many times we've had to ask her to STOP TALKING and STOP REPEATING EVERYTHING. All of us were lying in bed this morning when, once again, Isabella was saying something over and over again, so I've kind of learned to tune her out a bit...
"Mommy, why didn't you answer me?"
"Because some things don't need a response."
Walter says a really big, "Oh really??"
That's because this happens every day:
"Walter, can you change Isaac's diaper?"
Silence
More silence
Still playing Angry Birds
More silence, as I imagine drilling holes in his head while I stare at him angrily
"Walter, did you hear me?"
"Yes, you want me to change Isaac's diaper."
If this happens to you, you're not alone. Join me in accepting the fact that we are very different from our male counterparts.

Isaac's new sleeping arrangement...
My Honda Fit for your Aston Martin? Sure! We haven't seen this car again. Pretty sure it was intimidated by our coolness.
A trip to the Aquarium...
Being close to Langley Military Base, we had our own air show during lunch...
A hike at First Landing State Park. I have a thing for Cypress trees. Isaac was in the Beco and definitely did not appreciate picture-taking. Walter didn't really appreciate a hike.
"Are you sure you want to do the whole walk?"
"It's only 1.5 miles."
"1.8"
"Well, we've already gone half a mile, and it's really pretty!"
"If I stop for half a second the mosquitoes attack me."
"Then use the bug spray."
"These bugs are everywhere!"
"They aren't bothering me!"
He lucked out because we took a wrong turn and conveniently ended up back at the parking lot after only about a mile.
I am shamelessly excited to have a tenth blog member! Hooray! Thank you! And happy eighteenth month to my sweet boy. I love you so much and I love that we're learning so much together. You've changed me in so many ways. You've made me a better person, a stronger person, and all of this makes our hard days and nights together worth it.
Once again, beautiful pictures! How did you get the night ones to be so clear??? The giant turtle is pretty amazing :) And, I love Isabella's silly faces.
ReplyDeleteYay Isaac for sitting up straight AND a happy half-birthday to you!
We really need to work on taming Isabella's flyaways...
