Is it too late to say Merry Christmas...

Last week I started putting together a post of Our Year in Pictures and then I was overwhelmed by how many pictures I needed to sift through. And then I was overtaken with looking at before-surgery pictures of Isaac. I just need to take a moment to say that the transformation from Isaac's head before surgery and then after surgery, is quite amazing. Looking back it's not surprising I had such a hard time getting used to his new appearance. It was, and is, quite a change!

Last Thursday we went to the library to meet up with Sarah and the girls to do a craft. Basically Sarah and I did the craft and the girls put glue in random places. They were definitely more interested in the playroom. Isaac isn't crawling yet or even trying, so yes, I sit him on tables. Soon enough though, that won't work out!

A little cowgirl takin' a nap...

And a princess in her Christmas outfit...

these boots are more my style--I seriously wish I had some to match Maya's!

We had a really great Christmas this year. Every year Christmas is great, but Isabella really understood what was going on this year and I was ridiculously excited for her to open presents Christmas morning.

Sarah and Michael knew that Isabella wanted a pink sparkle ball-ie for Christmas. We exchanged gifts and when Isabella opened the present she exclaimed, "Just what I ALWAYS wanted!".

As we were reading 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, Isabella looked at me and said, "mommy, you have some-hing on your nose." "I know, it's called a pimple." "No, I don't hink so. It's a boogie." "No, Isabella, it's not a boogie." "Yes, it's a boogie."

Isaac got to be an elf on Christmas Eve, which meant he got to play with all of his presents before we wrapped them...

I was about to change Isaac's pajamas because he peed through his diaper but then Isabella woke up and had to open presents right away...just in case you were wondering why he's half dressed!

Every year Stella is probably the most excited about her present...

Walter surprised me with a Keurig single-cup coffee maker! Thanks Babe! We spent the next few days sampling coffee to find a good one. This worked out because we'd had very little sleep, so an excuse for extreme amounts of coffee was in order!

After we opened presents at our house, we headed over to my parent's house for brunch and Christmas, round 2...

Isaac LOVES balloons so my dad made sure to get a balloon for him and then Rosie got a balloon for him also...

Josh is constantly complaining about his toes being scrunched together. I don't really understand because I've never had this problem. Until Christmas morning he was using the Nerf gun ammunition as toe separators. Yeah, totally gross. Every time Isabella started to pick them up to play with we would all yell, "NO, don't touch, Josh puts those between his toes!!!!" Jesse found the solution...

Dad, checking out his new head lamp...

Another princess dress! These wings are removable, which will be very convenient for the car seat...

I'd requested the Sleep Sheep as a Christmas present for Isaac. Would this be the solution to our sleep problems? No, probably not, but it's a really soft, squishy sheep that acts as a white noise machine. I think maybe I'll sleep with it. I don't know, maybe dad needs one...

Dad, I forgot to tell you that I found a GOBA shirt on EBay and almost bought it for you but I didn't think mom would appreciate that. Especially since it was bright orange.

Really all it takes is a crunchy piece of plastic...

And then Christmas was over and we'd eaten amazing food and been given some amazing gifts so Isaac decided it was time to unleash the fury and screamed from 10:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. And has screamed every night since. I guess it's all a little much for him.

Wave Isaac!

Find a fairy...

catch a fairy...isn't she beautiful!

My special gift to Isabella was a tea set. Here's our first tea party. She was the only one dressed for the occasion, Walter and I were both in pajamas.

Yesterday we celebrated Christmas with Walter's family, so those pictures will be next!

Merry Christmas! We hope you had a great one!
