Six Months...

Isaac, otherwise known affectionately by Isabella as, Buddy Man, is six months old today. I was thinking about what to write for this post and I was going to say that the last six months have gone by quickly, but honestly, they haven't, so that would be a lie. The last few days I've been thinking about how exhausting it is to have someone love me as much as Isaac loves me. And until writing this I've subconsciously replaced need with love. Last week I went to a La Leche League Meeting and we talked about how as mothers, we have no other choice than to live in the moment because if you lived any other way, I don't think you could get through the day, or the night. Yes, I very much look forward to Isaac being two, because I think two is a really fun age, but if I'm always looking ahead and longing for what is ahead, then I'll miss getting to enjoy and know him in the now. What I've learned with having children, is that nothing lasts forever. That horrible phase, whatever it may be, doesn't last forever...I promise! So even though I spend much of my day bouncing Isaac, or I wake up with him five times at night, or it takes an hour to get him sleep every night, I know it won't last forever. Those happen to be very good times for me to talk to God and ask him for grace and patience because I know I can't do it on my own.

You can't have a picture of Isaac without drool!
