Movie: Take Two (or three or four).....

Sometimes life resembles a really bad movie...as in, nightmare.

Scene 1: 1:15 a.m. and Isaac finally falls asleep after a lot of screaming and a lot of nursing...like maybe ten times. Sierra is thinking, "now I can get some rest and I'm so glad Isabella is feeling better."

Scene 2: 1:30 a.m. Isabella climbs into Sierra and Walter's bed as Sierra says, "shhhh, Isaac just fell asleep, crawl in but don't wake him up." Isabella projectile vomits all over the bed....two times.

Scene 3: Walter jumps out of bed because he doesn't know what to do when said child is puking everywhere. He exits the scene until Sierra yells for him to get a towel and take Isaac who is now AWAKE.

Scene 4: Damage assessment: puke EVERWHERE and all blankets must be removed immediately....oh, and the puking culprit who just so happens to be screaming. No, she is not screaming because she threw up, she's screaming because her very favorite pajamas are covered in VOMIT.

Scene 5: Sierra cleans up the puking culprit and gets her back in bed....her own bed. Sierra then gingerly removes all blankets from the bed and starts laundry. Oh wait, first she acts like a trapped animal stuck in a room as she tries to open a window that is frozen shut because it ZERO degrees outside, but she MUST open a window because the putrid smell of fresh vomit is intoxicating and she can't take it anymore because all of the throwing up was supposed to be over and now there's puke everywhere and more laundry to do and more germs and more hand sanitizing and less sleep and a baby that's awake AGAIN....breath, just take a deep breath...well, not too deep because it smells pretty bad in here.

Scene 6: Sierra tries for several more hours to get Isaac back to sleep while she listens to Walter sleeping soundly in Isaac's room and watches Tabitha's Salon Makeover until FINALLY at 4:00 a.m. Isaac is sound asleep in the bouncy seat.

Scene 7: It's 7:00 a.m. and Isaac is awake. But not just awake to nurse. He's awake to play and smile and pull his mommy's hair. Sierra wants to bury herself in a deep hole.

That's how life played out Tuesday night or I guess Wednesday, very early in the morning. Isabella is better now and Wednesday night I escaped the minute Walter got home so that I could have dinner with my sister.

Now we're recovering from a week of yuckiness that included lots of whining and lots of cuddling in an attempt to prevent whining.

Isabella thinks I'm the best mommy ever when I let her type on the computer....

We attempted to make Valentines but Isabella lost interest pretty fast. Actually, we tried several different ways to make them. All were good ways to kill time but other than that nothing came of it. What I did find out is that she can draw a heart (just in case you were wondering how she turned out to be so artistically amazing, I drew the heart she is cutting out in the next picture).

Our attempts to get Isaac interested in solids always fails. He has very adverse reactions to food. But we're working on it, which probably means we'll be adding more specialists to the mix...why not right? That's all I'm going to say for now though....we're working on it.

Maybe if I completely ignore that the food is there it will magically go away and mommy will forget I'm sitting here....

Walter wanted me to delete this next picture but I'm all about documenting real life and this is an example of how much Isaac likes food....

(time for a bath and we've learned that Isaac is very good at holding grudges)

The first day that Isabella was feeling better she decided she wanted to make puppets--and she had a renewed love of glue.....

This animal is extinct, that's why you can't tell what it is.....

Isabella very surprisingly let Isaac join in a game of Candy Land.....

  2. Charlotte and I reread your post today. She thinks Stella is a cat. Don't tell Stella, though!
